Sandra Bullock's Alleged Stalker Faces New Weapons Charges, Pleads Not Guilty to Gun Possession

The man accused of trying to break into Sandra Bullock's Los Angeles home faces additional weapons charges, after law officials found a stock of arms in his Montrose, California home.

According to Reuters, 39-year-old Joshua James Corbett has been charged with 19 counts of "an arsenal of weapons, including a half dozen machine guns."

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office reported that Corbett's charges include "seven counts of possession of a machine gun, two counts of possession of an assault weapon and 10 counts of possession of a destructive device."

Corbett was arrested after he was found trying to break into Bullock's home while she was asleep on June 8 at around 5 A.M. He reportedly entered her Beverly Hills property by climbing the chain-link fence. LAPD officers found Corbett outside of the house, on the property.

The incident is being classified as a "hot prowl burglary," or a burglary that takes place while someone is home. A publicist for the Academy Award-winning actress said she was "unharmed" and was granted an emergency protective order following the incident.

Corbett was then charged with burglary, stalking and possession of a machine gun, but pleaded not guilty in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday. Prosecutors said Corbett was not in possession of his machine gun at the time of the break-in. Corbett faces up to seven years and four months in prison if he's convicted on the three previous felony counts

A Los Angeles judge set Corbett's bail at $2.2 million, in addition to the $185,000 bond from the original charges, but if convicted on the new charges he could spend up to 12 years in jail.

He is currently being held in Los Angeles County Jail.
