Time to start calling rapper Pitbull "Dr. Pitbull".
The 33-year-old "Give Me Everything" rapper received an honorary degree from Doral College in Miami earlier this month and took to social media on Wednesday to show off his diploma and send a message to anyone who did not believe in him.
"For those that didn't believe #dale," the rapper captioned the picture of himself dressed in a graduation gown and proudly posing with his diploma, while flashing his middle finger and sporting a goofy wide smile.
Pitbull, whose real name is Armando Christian Perez, is the first ever to receive a honorary degree from Doral College, according to Miami news station Local 10 News. The Florida native received the honorary degree for his contributions to improve educational access in his community.
After accepting his degree the rapper gave a speech on his experiences of growing up in Miami and his passion for education.
"I remember being kicked out of a public school because I did not have the right address, that's why I want better schools for the kids who live where I grew up," the rapper said, according to Local 10 News. "That's why Doral Academy was founded, and that's why I helped create SLAM (Sports Leadership and Management Academy) in the neighborhood where I grew up. A school that offers a choice for students, like me, students who need someone to inspire them, someone to believe in them."
Pitbull recently hit the stage with Jennifer Lopez at the 2014 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in the Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The duo performed the World Cup theme song "We Are One (Ole Ola)," alongside Brazilian pop star Claudia Leitte.
