Warner Bros. may have big plans for Ben Affleck outside of the "Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice" production.
Latino Review reports the studio will launch a standalone film starring Affleck titled "The Batman." The rumored Batman movie will allegedly be released in 2019, well after the "Justice League" and "Wonder Woman" films are set to hit theaters.
Along with starring in the film, Latino Review reports their insider sources claim Affleck could be directing the standalone Batman movie.
"The question is whether Affleck will direct the stand alone Batman film," Latino Review reports. "It is a good possibility since Affleck is now one of the studio's signature stars headlining as one of its signature characters whose last directorial effort Argo took home the best picture Oscar. Remember, Affleck's deal to play Batman took months for his agent at WME and attorney at Ziffren to close. Perhaps the contract contains a clause or a separate rider in his deal for directing services."
The news comes on the heels of NikkiFinke.com's scoop about Warner Bros. movie lineup, which will allegedly be announced during this year San Diego Comic Con in July. The Warner Bros. movie line-up includes:
May 2016 - Batman v Superman
July 2016 - Shazam
Xmas 2016 - Sandman
May 2017 - Justice League
July 2017 - Wonder Woman
Xmas 2017 - Flash and Green Lantern team-up
May 2018 - Man Of Steel 2
NikkieFinke.com also reports their source claims there will be cameos of other DC characters throughout all of the films in the Comic Con lineup.
"The cameos will include the already known Cyborg and Flash. Green Lantern [not played by Ryan Reynolds, thank god] may be introduced," the source said. "And Aquaman will be seen in the Justice League movie. Problem is, Warner Bros Pictures was still negotiating with the actors for those cameos and future roles, meaning major contracts for multiple JL/character films to follow. The studio didn't want to move forward until they had more of this secure so they held off starting production for a few months. Seemingly simple reason, but the implications are pretty darn huge."
"Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice" will be released to theaters on May 6, 2016.
