Japan plays Greece on Thursday in the 2014 World Cup group stage. The match starts at 6:00 p.m. ET. Watch the live stream or listen to the radio broadcast via the links provided below.
Japan needs a win to keep in content to qualify for the next round. The Japanese were unable to carry their strong first half against the Ivory Coast, who overpowered Japan in the second half and handed them a 2-1 loss. Heading into Thursday's match, Japan star Keisuke Honda believes they can come away with three points if they control the time of possession and keep to their gameplan.
"Possession, that is our strength," Honda said, via IB Times. "When we have the ball we just need to keep the ball and not give it away easily. When we do lose the ball we should press immediately. That is our philosophy."
Greece is also coming off a loss after being dismantled by Colombia in the opener, 3-0. Although the loss was certainly humbling, Greece boss Fernando Santos believes his squad will be able to bounce back.
"Against Colombia there was a lack of concentration, that was the problem," Fernando Santos said. "If we keep our level of focus, of concentration, of what the Greeks are used to seeing, there won't be any problems."
Santos also called the altercation at practice between Yannis Maniatis and Giorgos Tzavellas "trivial" and insisted the altercation was "blown out of proportion" by the media.
