France began their World Cup bid with a 3-0 dismantling of Honduras. France striker Karim Benzema accounted for two goals, spurring the National team on to a result.
"Karim is a player of a very high standard who is more than just a goalscorer," France boss Didier Deschamps said, via IB Times. "He also likes to be involved in the build-up [but] I don't want him to feel like he has a special mission, let him stick to what he's good at, without feeling the obligation of being decisive."
Switzerland is also coming off an opening win, putting them in position to sit atop the group standings if they can come away with a result. Taking three points from France, though, won't be easy for Switzerland boss Ottmar Hitzfeld's squad.
"We're in a special position with France being our neighbours and it's a derby, so to speak, but if we are to have a chance, we really have to go beyond our limits," Hitzfeld told FIFA.com. "They are a team who have put in great performances and were impressive in their play-off win against Ukraine.
"They put in an explosive performance and played with confidence. We'll have to be aggressive on attack, counter-attack quickly and then we'll have a chance."
