"Game of Thrones" showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss might be planning to recast a Lannister in the upcoming season five.
Winter Is Coming reports Aimee Richardson will not be reprising her role Princess Myrcella Baratheon. Richardson was last seen in season two of the HBO series.
Actress Nell Tiger Free is reportedly taking on the role in season five. Myrcella, who is a product of twins Cersei and Jaime Lannister's incestuous relationship, was eight when she first appeared in the "A Song of Fire And Ice" novels.
In season two, the princess is sent to Dorne to marry Prince Trystane Martell once she is off age. According to Winter Is Coming, the HBO showrunners will be taking some creative liberties when it comes to Myrcella and Trystane's relationship.
Rumors claim Myrcella and Trystane will fall in love, which could complete things once the Martells learn of Prince Oberyn's death.
Benioff and Weiss have been open about the show not sticking to the books when it comes to major plot points. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the showrunners explained how they plan on adapting "A Song of Fire And Ice" into the "Game of Thrones" series.
"We have talked to George extensively about where he's going with the books, and will continue to do so," the showrunners told EW. "His books are the blueprint for the world we're building. Ultimately the show needs to work on its own terms, and keep on moving. Our job is to square that necessity with George's work to the best of our ability."
Weiss and Beinoff also confirmed the show will be heading to Spain to film the Dorne scenes.
"There will be Dorne, and we're excited about it," the showrunners told EW. "Who wouldn't want to hang out in Dorne? They have admirable values and priorities. And have you seen Oberyn's coat?"
