EBay's enterprise business division is in for a vast change, following the online auction site's new presidential hire Tuesday.
EBay expects former IBM executive Craig Hayman to help the newly appointed president lead the business into the future by assisting clients with shipping, marketing and customer management, which Hayman has said he is looking forward to impacting. The newly appointed leader is also assisting the company in advancing customer service, systems for processing consumers' payments, and managing clients' orders, according to Internet Retailer.
"I am delighted to join eBay Enterprise during this transformative time in its history and see tremendous opportunity for the organization," said Hayman. "A longtime customer of IBM, eBay Enterprise's fulfillment centers, drop-ship and ship-from-store capabilities are unique in helping retailers better serve their customers. I am honored to be part of the team and join this purpose-driven company, which is enabling commerce on a global scale."
During his 15-year tenure with the tech giant, Hayman provided IBM's newly launched Commerce on Cloud Saas software for clients who subscribed to the Internet accessible program. This replaced their need to install computer programs on their own machines. The tech vet also completed over 12 deals with online retailing and marketing firms.
"We are fortunate to have Craig join our leadership team and lead our Enterprise business unit," said John Donahoe. "Technology continues to have a significant impact on the overall commerce landscape. Craig's experience will enhance our ability to serve retailers and brands in this online to offline world."
EBay officials established one of the world's largest online marketplaces in 1995 in San Jose, Calif. Over 1,000 cities are represented in unique ticket and classified areas including StubHub, according to company officials.
King of Prussia, Pa., houses the international business' headquarters. Other offices are located in Austin, Texas, Barcelona, London, Los Angeles, New York, and Shanghai.
