‘The Wolverine’ Trailer Offers Glimpse of Silver Samurai Face-Off (VIDEO)

While audiences will get to see Hugh Jackman back in his muscle-rippling, adamantium claws-baring glory on July 26 as "The Wolverine", in the meantime, another sneak peek of the movie is out.

The new trailer shows Logan (played by Jackman) being traumatized by nightmares of his killing his love Jean Grey at the end of "X-Men: The Last Stand". When someone he saved years ago offers him the gift of "ending his eternity" and making him mortal, the mutant finds himself in the thick of the action in Japan, facing off against new villains, including the formidable main antagonist, Silver Samurai.

The Facebook page of the film says this about the storyline: "Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he will face a host of unexpected and deadly opponents in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality."

In an interview available on Youtube, Jackman answered questions sent by fans on Twitter.

"He is to me the most bad-ass comic book character out there," he said. "Way cooler than me, way tougher than me. So I kind of have great wish fulfillment in playing him."

Jackman also explained the change in approach for this film.

"What I love about this Wolverine movie and why it's called 'The Wolverine' and not 'Wolverine 2' is because it's completely different," she said. "Not only the tone, but I think you get the definitive look at the character. In many movies we concentrate on his lack of memory, but in this movie we concentrate on his immortality and the implications of that."

The most exciting scene of this film for the Australian actor has to do with the action and Japan. "I'm just going to say two words - bullet train," reveals Jackman.
