AT&T will be one of just a handful of telecommunication companies to sell the LG G Watch when it's added to the carrier's retail lineup.
As part of the upcoming launch, the date of which hasn't yet been announced, the 1.65 inch display smartwatch is slated to give consumers information when they really need it, according to company officials. Ask the Android 4.3 plus compatible watch's voice system a question, and the user will automatically receive a spoken answer.
"The LG G Watch is a great addition to AT&T's selection of smart accessories," said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president of devices at AT&T. "A key differentiator of the LG G Watch is that it works on any smartphone with Android 4.3 or higher, allowing users to receive notifications and other useful information at a glance. The LG G Watch will be available to our customers in the coming weeks, and we look forward to sharing more details soon."
AT&T has already begun promoting the gadget on their website with a banner that reads: "Coming Soon. LG G Watch. Powered by Android Wear."
Consumers can also input their e-mail address to receive a notification when the device hits the market.
Samsung previously unveiled some of its own similar smart watches to the tech world. The $299 Samsung Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo smartwatch combinations are currently available, according to The Los Angeles Times. The Gear Fit device is also for sale in stores and on the company's website.
The gadgets can make calls, send text messages and play music. Samsung Officials said the Galaxy is great for outdoor activities like hikes, and is completely waterproof.
