Shia LaBeouf's erratic behavior is making headlines again.
Us Weekly reported that the former "Transformers" star was arrested while attending a performance of the Broadway show "Cabaret" on Thursday in New York City. The New York Police Department told reporters that the 28-year-old actor "engaged in disruptive behavior" during the show, which stars Michelle Williams and Alan Cumming.
LaBeouf was accused of smoking inside the theater and reportedly disrupting the performance by slapping strangers in the theater on the rear end and yelling at audience members and the actors on stage.
"He was disruptive during Act [one] and escorted out of Studio 54 at intermission," a Broadway representative said.
The actor was asked to leave the theater during intermission, however he refused. LaBeouf was later escorted out of a Broadway show in handcuffs by security and arrested.
A source told the publication that the actor began threatening and spitting on officers and several bystanders outside of the theater, which caused police to place a face mask on the actor. According to Broadway World, LeBeouf was "in tears when taken away by police."
"Shia seemed out of sorts," a source told Us Weekly. "He was interacting with strangers during the show and slapping peoples' backsides. He was trying to avoid the police and fell. Then he was cursing at the police while being taken into custody."
NYPD spokesperson Brian Sessa said the actor has been charged with "two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of criminal trespassing" and added that "while at Studio 54 he was upsetting patrons, being loud and yelling. He'll be jailed. There will be a court appearance for this matter."
Several celebrities commented on the actor's arrest, including cast member Danny Burstein, who reportedly posted on Facebook, "Ladies and gentlemen, this is your places call for Act II. Also, to let you know, Shia LaBeouf has just been escorted from the building in handcuffs."
Tony Award nominee Benj Pasek tweeted about the actor's arrest, writing, "Just saw Shia LaBeouf in handcuffs in tears surrounded by 6 police officers outside of CABARET the musical. Oh New York, u is a crazy bi***."
