Murray has begun his title defense by not dropping any sets en route to the third round. He defeated David Goffin and Blaz Rola en route to Friday's match. Although he is the reigning champion, Murray isn't underestimating his No. 27 seed opponent.
"He's a very good player. It will be a step up for sure," Murray said of Bautista Agut, via BBC. "He doesn't play like a lot of the Spanish guys. He plays very flat. Not much topspin. The grass courts suit his game pretty well. He's obviously started well here. He's improving all the time."
Bautista Agut needed four sets in each of his last two matches to earn a spot in the third round. The 26-year-old Spaniard has improved in the last year, rising from 60th in the World rankings to 23rd.
"I'm not scared," Bautista Agut said of playing Murray. "I will try to play my game. I am winning a lot of matches. I will try to be aggressive, to play my game. I feel good playing from the baseline. I have good returns. I feel well physically. I feel good on the long matches."
The two players have met before, according to MatchStat.com.
BBC analyst Mark Petchey breaks down what to expect on Friday:
"Murray is going to face a pretty awkward competitor, but Bautista Agut doesn't have the greatest serve and I always feel that, against Andy, if you don't have something special in that department he is going to make you pay too often in a match.
"If Andy plays well, he doesn't need to worry too much about his opponent, but at the same time he needs to be wary. It's a step up from his opening two rounds."
