Courteney Cox Engagement Update: Ring And Proposal Details

Sources reveal details about the Courteney Cox's engagement to Johnny McDaid - the ring and the proposal.

Courteney Cox announced on Twitter that she is engaged to her boyfriend Johnny McDaid, whom she has been dating for eight months now. According to a Us Weekly source, McDaid took help of the "F.R.I.E.N.D.S" actress' closest friends to pick out the ring.

"He worked hard to get one that was elegant and tasteful," the source told the tabloid. "He asked people close to her for help."

The source also revealed that McDaid earlier took permission from Cox's mother to propose to the actress and popped the question in Turks and Caicos during a vacation celebrating Cox's 50th birthday.

"Johnny asked [Courteney's mom] Cece for permission to propose," the source said. "It was just the two of them, very sweet and romantic and between them. Johnny is so in love with her and she knows this is right."

Cox and McDaid were first spotted together at Jennifer Aniston's Bel Air holiday party last December. However, at that time, McDaid was referred to as Cox's "mystery man." Life & Style later confirmed his identity.

This will be the second time Cox will walk down the aisle. She was previously married to David Arquette. The couple ended their marriage after thirteen years in 2012. They have mantained a friendly relationship since their divorce and share custody of their 9-year old daughter, Coco. The two met and fell in love in 2000 on the sets of the movie "Scream." Following the divorce, Cox was linked with Brian Van Holt before finally confirming she was dating McDaid.

Arquette has moved on with his girlfriend Christina McLarty and the couple recently welcomed their first child, Charlie West.

"I've done it once so there's not that fear that a first-time parent has because you just don't know what to expect," Arquette told People about having a second child. "You have to have a lot of faith that you will be able to keep them safe and not mess them up too much."
