Uruguay won a spot in the round of 16 but lost their star player, Luis Suarez, to a nine-match suspension after he bit Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini. The Uruguayans, though, must overcome the loss as they head into Brazil's famed Maracana stadium.
"It will undoubtedly be a unique occasion," Uruguay striker Christian Stuani told FIFA.com. "It is a stadium with so much history, and what with everything our shirt represents there. It will be very special to have the opportunity to play there, because getting this far was extremely difficult.
"We will enjoy it to the full and compete to the very end, just as we have done up until today, even though we know we're up against a very tough rival. Our hopes and expectations are still alive, and we'll do all we can to win this match. ...
"We will need to be fully focused. We know Colombia are playing really well, but we are confident in our own abilities. It will be a fiercely disputed game right until the final whistle."
Colombia heads into Saturday's contest hot. They won all three of their group stage matches, including a 2-1 win over Ivory Coast.
