One person has died and four others were injured early Sunday morning (June 29) at a pre-BET Awards party in Los Angeles. Police confirmed to Reuters that the shooting took place at a restaurant and banquet hall about three miles west of downtown but did not release the names of the victims.
The shooter has not yet been located. Los Angeles Police Department told Reuters that the gunman fired several shots into the crowd before fleeing the scene. One of the three people taken to local hospitals by ambulance died. The other two were said to be in stable condition after seeking their own medical care at L.A. hospitals.
It's not clear if the shooting happened inside or outside the banquet hall, Reuters reports. This is second incident at a BET pre-party this weekend. On Saturday, a 20-year-old man was stabbed at Lure nightclub in Hollywood.
According to TMZ, the man was taken to Cedars-Sinai hospital where he is currently in stable condition. TMZ reports that the nightclub party was hosted by rapper Meek Mill with The Game and Lil Boosie in attendance.
