Verizon added three Florida communities to its 4G LTE network Monday, in efforts to enhance capacity and service capabilities.
Verizon's XLTE 4G long-term evolution network provides over 300 company markets with high-speed Internet, according to company officials. The service operates on the carrier's significantly advanced wireless services program, which gives more consumers the opportunity to use the service for transferring photos, uploading videos, browsing the web and utilizing various apps on their smartphones and tablet computers. Consumers can access a number of applications, even during peak usage times, particularly during rush hour, at concert venues, sports arenas, and stadiums.
Jacksonville, Panama City, and Naples, Fla., are now compatible with the network. The company added Fort Walton, Fla., to the expanded list of 500 plus locations that will soon also be part of XLTE 4G.
"Customers in these new markets and across Florida are power users of 4G LTE - sharing photos and video, downloading large files, and staying connected to enjoy a great wireless experience," said Mariano Legaz, Verizon's Florida region president. "XLTE gives us a clear advantage to remain ahead of competitors, and our customers' demand for even better, faster 4G LTE service."
Verizon recently added a new VoLTE, voiceover long-term evolution technology capability to give consumers video calling options, along with the ability to make and receive direct video calls.
"Choosing a national rollout on the nation's largest 4G LTE network, Verizon can deliver a seamless customer experience for high-quality calling and other features," the company said. "From the beginning, Verizon's VoLTE service will offer an HD Voice experience, using the AMR-wideband standard, the accepted industry norm for this service. This solution provides the best voice quality available now and allows for future interoperability with others using the standard."
