As news of Harry Styles collaborating with Kodaline spreads, new "One Direction" breakup rumors start making the rounds.
Rumors of a potential "One Direction" breakup started after rock band Kodaline told Digital Spy that Harry Styles has been working with them on a few songs.
"It was really strange how they came about," frontman Steve Garrigan told the tabloid at Glastonbury. "He just turned up to a show, and he likes our music. We had a bit of free time and so we went to the studio and wrote a song. It was good fun."
When asked whether the song will feature in One Direction's upcoming album, Garrigan said he wasn't sure because "there hundreds of songs flying around."
"It could be on his album if he does something, but I don't know. Nothing is set in stone," he added.
This is not the first time that the One Direction break up rumors have floated. Similar gossip emerges every few months about them.
The rumors gained some credence because the boy band is very rarely seen hanging together nowadays. However, the negative rumors were shot down by another 1D member, Liam Payne, who clarified that they were all just busy writing songs for their newest album. Styles also echoed similar sentiments in an interview with Metro.
"We're not breaking up. We've spent every day together for months and I forgot what my mum looked like. It's just holidays... We're on WhatsApp messaging each other all the time, talking about song ideas and just funny stuff from our day," Styles said.
However, in another interview with Breathecast, Niall Horan, the 20-year-old member of the band, mentioned that each of them was also spending time focusing on solo projects but it does not entirely mean they are actually disbanding.
As tight as they may seem now, ex- "American Idol" judge, Simon Cowell doesn't rule out the possibility of One Direction disbanding in the future - all popular pop bands have. It doesn't hurt that all the band members are extremely talented, good looking and have a huge fanbase of their own. Hence, it will come as no surprise if the band members go their different ways.
