The King of Clay hasn't been flawless on the grass of Wimbledon. He's dropped at least one set in each of his last three matches, including Mikhail Kukushkin taking him to five sets in the third round.
Still, the World's No. 1 player has found ways to win. He'll be challenged yet again on Tuesday when he faces 19-year-old Kyrgios of Australia.
"Young players are very dangerous as always the young players have something special," Nadal said, via the Guardian. "They are able to play with no pressure. They are fresh."
Tennis Australia development manager Scott Draper believes Kyrgios has the tools to upset Nadal.
"Is Nick going to hit some shots and play a style that will worry Rafa? Absolutely," Draper said. "Nick enjoys the limelight, the big moments and backs himself under pressure. He definitely has the weapons and he genuinely believes he's got the game, then you've got someone who can create havoc."
The 6-foot-5 Kyrgios doesn't sound phased by the pressure of playing Nadal and actually looks forward to it.
"Rafa is probably the fittest guy on tour, and one of the strongest, too," Kyrgios said. "He will have no worries. But I thrive on those opportunities to play in front of a big crowd. I love it. I will be interacting a bit with them. It's going to be really exciting."
Tuesday will be Nadal and Kyrgios's first meeting.
