'Game of Thrones' Season 5 Spoilers: Dorne Filming Locations Include Spain, Croatia; Production Will Return To Iceland?

"Game of Thrones" will be set in some familiar locations along with new backdrops in season five, Winter Is Coming reports.

The fan site claims the production is scouting Croatia to film some season five scenes. Šibenik.in confirmed to Winter Is Coming the HBO show is "definitely" coming to the Croatia in September. However, HBO hasn't commented about a Croatia location.

"Game of Thrones" is also reportedly heading back to Iceland to film a "very limited amount of daylight hour," Winter Is Coming reports. The production is also heading to Spain to film Dorne scenes for the show.

El Mundo reports (via Winter Is Coming) reports the production will be filming in several locations. The rumored locations are:

The Plaza de Toros: Over a hundred years old, the bull ring walls are made of sandstone.

The University: Built in 1548 with four towers and influences from the Italian Renaissance, much of the University has been converted to modern classrooms, but parts of it retain the original design, including the chapel, the Sala de la Girona, and the courtyard.

La Colegiata: Located by the university, this church was founded in 1535.

The Canteras de Osuna: The old quarries that supplied the stones for the town's structures were visited as well.

However, the production has confirmed scenes will be filmed in Alcazar of Seville, which is rumored to be the setting of Water Gardens of Dorne, home to the Martell family.

HBO has kept the plot lines for "Game of Thrones" under wraps, but Littlefinger actor Aidan Gillen claims the show will go beyond the books in season five. Gillen explained to News.com.au the actors are kept in the dark about how the show will progress.

"It's an adventure everyone is on - the audience, the cast. Not knowing where it's going, that's good," Gillen said. "People playing end games could work ... but if you don't know what the end game is, maybe you won't play the obvious thing."
