Colombia is the underdog in Friday's contest, but it's a role the team has come to embrace en route to the World Cup quarterfinals.
"From the first game we knew it wasn't going to be easy, our attitude has been to go step by step," Colombia defender Pablo Armero said, via FIFA.com. "We haven't come here to go for a walk in the park. We've come here to give everything and go for glory."
Brazil, one of the favorites to win the tournament, stands in Colombia's way of glory. Brazil hasn't lost yet, and they continue to enjoy the home field advantage of being the host nation.
"Brazil are not weak, it's just that every team here wants to go as far as possible, we've even seen that since the start of the World Cup," Armero said. "Every team wants to win and no-one is hiding. Also, they were up against Chile, who have great players. ...
"To nullify Neymar the whole team needs to help each other out in trying to mark him. We need to stay united and not lose our focus. We are a compact team and we know that when we play together we get results."
Colombia arguably is one of the surprise teams of the tournament. Although they were the favorite to qualify out of their group, few anticipated Colombia being 4-0-0 and playing for a spot in the World Cup semifinals.
