Actor Nicolas Cage has officially earned the right to be called Grandpa.
Us Weekly reported the 50-year-old actor's son Weston Coppola Cage, 23, and his wife Danielle welcomed a ''happy, healthy little boy'' on Tuesday.
''Weston and Danielle are thrilled! The family is home and baby Cage is taking very well to his new environment. Lucian Augustus Coppola Cage was born on July 1, 2014 at 3:14 p.m.," a representative for the couple told Us Weekly.
Weston, who is an actor and musician, also announced the birth of his son on Facebook, writing, "Our beautiful son was born yesterday. Truly a perfect child from a perfect Mother and a warrior Father. There will be no photographs as of now but in time his gorgeous smile will be seen."
The new born reportedly received his name in honor of his family's heritage. The couple, who married in November 2013, said their son's name was inspired by his own late grandfather August. Weston's grandfather died of heart attack at the age of 75.
"Lucian is of Romanian descent, which is what I am," Danielle told Us Weekly. "And Augustus is taken from Weston's grandfather"
Weston added: "His name is August. We honor him very much. He was of extreme brilliance. He was a genius."
Weston, whose mother is Nicolas' ex-girlfriend Christina Fulton, announced his wife was expecting their first child together during the Kasem Cares Foundation fundraiser in February. He also added that his father was looking forward to becoming a grandfather for the first time.
"My dad is ecstatic. He was elated immediately when he met Danielle," Weston told Us Weekly.
The "Kick-Ass" actor also has an eight-year-old son, Kal-El, with his current wife Alice Kim. Nicolas was previously married to Lisa Marie Presley and Patricia Arquette.
