The Chicago Cubs play the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday in Game 2 of their five-game series. The game starts at 1:10 p.m. ET. Listen to the live radio broadcast below.
Cincinnati's offense exploded on Monday to take the first game of the series, 9-3. Outfielder Jay Bruce, who debuted Monday at first base, and infielder Anthony Rizzo each hit two-run homers, and starting pitcher Mike Leake allowed only two earned runs on nine hits while fanning seven batters.
Bruce committed an error that gave Chicago an unearned run, but he bounced back from it in the seventh inning with his ninth homerun of the season.
"I ended up falling back on being a baseball player," Bruce told the Associated Press. "In the end, I drove in more than I let in. It was definitely fun. I felt bad about missing that ball. That was a tough play, but it's a play I expect to make and should make."
Bruce volunteered to play at first base to help the short-handed Reds, according to the Associated Press. Despite the one error, he had a solid debut at first and expects to occasionally play the position when needed.
"I thought he did a terrific job," Reds manager Bryan Price said. "There was that one tough play that I didn't think was an error. I don't know if it was an error or not, but that's how they scored it. In the end, he just played the position and did a terrific job."
Reds pitcher Johnny Cueto (8-6, 1.99 ERA) is scheduled to start Game 2. He's looking to bounce back from a 3-0 loss at San Diego, whom he gave up three earned runs to despite striking out eight batters.
Cueto will be opposed by Cubs pitcher Travis Wood (7-6, 4.62), who's coming off a no-decision in Chicago's 16-9 win Wednesday at Boston.
