Microsoft's Xbox One console is expected to get a number of new features in its upcoming update, one of which is the availability of accents.
The accents offer was confirmed Monday by Larry Hryb, aka Major Nelson, programming director for Xbox Live, according to CNET. The feature was first revealed in June, and will give users the ability to control the spoken language of their Xbox Ones.
Microsoft received many complaints from Xbox One users after its debut in November about some features not working, as well as certain upgrades that were not included. The company responded with regular updates to the console to improve features and correct problems. Microsoft is releasing more new features to not only please current owners, but also to increase console sales, which have been slower than the company originally expected.
Additional features coming in the Xbox One July update include a Snap mode for achievements, which lets players track progress in a separate window while they play their games, Polygon reported. Players will also be able to use the "Get Help" option to look for tips and strategy content for achievements that haven't yet been completed.
Xbox One users will also be able to double-tap the controller button to bring up a list of snappable apps, TechCrunch reported. They can also double-tap the button to switch between snapped apps they're browsing.
Another feature in the update is the ability to "like" game clips and other items that the user records through the SmartGlass app, CNET reported.
Hryb said the Xbox One update will be available to gamers around the world in the coming days.
