After failing to save the world, Sean Hayes has decided to move in with the Millers.
The Los Angeles Times reported Hayes is joining the cast of CBS' comedy "The Millers" as a series regular for season two. The Emmy-winning actor will play Kip Withers, who is the best friend to Margo Martindale, played by Carol Miller, and a new source of friction for her son, played by Will Arnett, CBS said on Tuesday.
"After years of being a fan and hearing from others how wonderful he is to work with, I couldn't be more excited about Sean Hayes joining The Millers," Greg Garcia, show creator, said. "The thought of he and Margo Martindale as BFFs makes me smile every time I think about it. We're only just getting started, and writing this season's stories has been a blast."
Hayes starred as Jack McFarland on the sitcom "Will & Grace" for eight seasons. He has guest starred on TV shows including "Smash" and "Up All Night" and made appearances in films such as "The Three Stooges" and "The Bucket List".
Last year, Hayes' show "Sean Saves the World" was canceled after one season. Alongside starring in the NBC comedy, the actor also served as executive producer. The show reportedly struggled with ratings - its last episode brought in just 2.6 million viewers.
"We're really unhappy we can't find an audience for them in those time periods," Bob Greenblatt, NBC President, said before the show's cancellation. "We're still going to work hard to see what we can do on Thursday nights, but it's a real uphill battle."
Season two of "The Millers" is set to premiere on October 30 at 8:30 P.M. on CBS.
