At least eight children have been killed in the last 24 hours after the Israeli forces launched Operation Protective Edge Tuesday. The forces said that Hamas fired 365 rockets at Israel in less than 3 days.
Israel hit around 200 Gaza targets as its missile defense system, Iron Dome, once again intercepted rockets. According to the reports, by Wednesday evening, Israel's offensive killed around 53 people and injured more than 450. According to BBC, unidentified Palestinian sources said that among those killed in Gaza on Wednesday were five men sitting in a beach side cafe watching the World Cup.
Air strikes by Israel killed eight members of a family including five children in a pre-dawn raid Thursday, on Gaza, Palestinian officials said. Hamas-led fighters launched rockets at Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities. Israel reasons that its offensive is intended to halt rocket fire at its cities from the Gaza Strip.
"Despite the fact it will be hard, complicated and costly, we will have to take over Gaza temporarily, for a few weeks, to cut off the strengthening of this terror army," said Israeli intelligence minister,Yuval Steinitz, reports RT citing Israel Radio. "If you ask my humble opinion, a significant operation like this is approaching.'"
The Israeli military said it struck a car that carried three Islamic militants in Gaza. At least 20 civilians have been among the 75 dead, according to Gaza's health ministry, reports USA Today.
No deaths were reported in Israel following the intensified aerial campaigns this week.
