Reports say the next installment in the Samsung Galaxy Note series, the Samsung Galaxy S4, could debut sometime in quarters three or four. In addition to rumors about the phone’s release date, there has also been speculation as to how the phone will look. According to The Diplomat, the Galaxy Note 3 could come with a more “flexible display” and “premium build.”
Rumors have suggested the Note 3 will feature a flexible, or unbreakable, screen. However, The Diplomat, points out such rumors have been occurring the for the last two smartphone cycles. Both the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy S4 were expected to have the screen. However, this never happened. So, the rumors have moved on to the Galaxy Note 3.
There were reports from Sam Mobile on the possibility of a flexible screen on a new 6-inch smartphone from Samsung. However, those reports said Samsung was having problems mass producing the flexible screens and now the 6-inch smart phone will get a normal AMOLED panel.
According to The Diplomat, reports also say Samsung will go away from the Note 2’s build and use premium build materials on the Note 3. Samsung may be feeling the pressure to incorporate these materials after the premium build materials on the HTC one got outstanding reviews.
Rumors suggest Samsung is currently working on various prototypes for the Note 3. However, there is no confirmation on whether those prototypes are incorporating premium build materials.
According to reports from Sam Mobile, the Note 3 will most likely look like the Galaxy S4—despite all the alleged experimentation.
The good news is the Note 3 will be a very powerful phone. It is expected to come with a powerful Octa-Core processor. The processor is composed of two-separate quad-core units, one running at 1.9 GHz and one running at 1.6 GHz. The phone is also expected to have a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera and the updated TouchWiz interface.
