Free Slurpee Day: 7-Eleven Honors 7/11 with Week-Long Celebration Including Free Big Gulp Drinks, Twinkies and More

7-Eleven is celebrating 7/11 by giving out free 12 ounce Slurpees! Once again, the store chain will be celebrating July 11 (dubbed Free Slurpee Day) by giving customers a free small Slurpee from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

However, the chain has decided to keep the freebie celebration going and announced that customers can continue to score free items for an entire week - if you download the 7-Eleven app or text the word "FREE" to 711711.

The additional free items include Big Gulp drinks (on July 12), M&M candy (July 13), Grandma Cookies (July 14), Twinkies (July 15), Twix or Snickers Ice Cream bar (July 16), Quaker Chewy Yogurt Snack Bar (July 17), Pillsbury Cookies (July 18), and Small Slurpee Drink (July 19).

According to Time, in 2013 7-Eleven increased the size of their free Slurpee from 7.11 ounce to a regular small (12 ounces) and everyone went crazy. Around 7 million people got their free frozen drinks and the chain is anticipating an even bigger number this year.

Apparently, today should also be called "Free Food Friday" because other store chains will be handing out goodies. In honor of "Cow Appreciation Day" (which happened to fall on July 11 this year), Chick-fil-A will give customers a free breakfast, lunch or dinner combo meal.

The only catch: you have to dress "head to hoof" in a cow costume. And if the kids want to get involved and dress up as baby cows, they can get a free kids meal. Last year, almost one million people participated.

For those who might be a little shy (or embarrassed) to walk around dressed like a cow, Chick-fil-A will give customers a free entrée if they show up in a cow-spotted accessory. Krispy Kreme also has a deal going on today - customers who buy a dozen glazed donuts can get a second dozen for 77 cents.
