There's more drama on ABC's "The View."
Former co-host Joy Behar is criticizing fellow host Elisabeth Hasselbeck for harsh commentary she made about Rosie O'Donnell returning to "The View," following the departure of co-hosts Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd.
"I thought that was really kind of below-the-belt, to say she spits in the face of the military," Behar said in an interview with CNN Don Lemon. "I would like Elisabeth to explain herself. What does she mean by that? And isn't it kind of a nasty thing to say about somebody who basically is a good person?"
She added: "That's a dangerous thing to say about somebody. I think it's a hate-filled remark."
While on vacation Hasselbeck phoned into Fox & Friends on Wednesday to give her opinion about O'Donnell negotiating a deal to return to the morning show for Season 18. Hasselbeck also accused O'Donnell of plotting her return during Barbara Walter's final show in May.
ABC announced Thursday that O'Donnell was returning to the show after a seven-year hiatus. Hasselbeck posted a note on her Instagram account Thursday explaining her comments.
"When asked about Barbara Walters announcing her retirement, I provided my analysis," Hasselbeck said. "When asked about [Sherri Shepherd] and [Jenny McCarthy] announcing their departure, I provided my analysis. When asked about Rosie coming back, I provided my analysis. When the next two chairs get filled - if asked - I will provide my analysis."
Hasselbeck ended the note by writing "O'DONNELL: 'I just want to say something: 655,000 Iraqi civilians are dead. Who are the terrorists?...If you were in Iraq, and another country, the United States, the richest in the world, invaded your country and killed 655,000 of your citizens, what would you call us?'"
The comment referred to the debate between Hasselbeck and O'Donnell during a 2007 episode of "The View".
