Twitter’s Activity Dashboard Updated with More Details

Twitter Inc. updated its Tweet Activity Board this week to provide users with more details on their 140-character messages.

The dashboard previously used retweets and favorites a tweet received to measure its effect, according to PC Magazine. The new dashboard retains this information, but it has been improved to show details about other people involved with a user's tweets as well as the amount of impressions it has earned.

The social networking service's new move follows a year after it made its analytics tool available to regular users. However, the new dashboard is only available to verified users, advertisers, and Twitter Card Publishers.

Showing how users are engaging with tweets in real-time also demonstrates the company's interest in marketing the dashboard to brands, Mashable reported.

"This newest tool can help you identify in real time which Tweets are getting the most attention and how you're reaching your audience, information you can use to determine the Twitter strategies that work for you," Buster Benson, analytics product manager at Twitter, wrote in a blog post.

The new dashboard also comes with metrics that tell users the number of times people viewed their tweet on Twitter's iOS and Android apps, as well as on Twitter.com. Total impressions, along with an hour-by-hour breakdown for the first day, can be looked at on a tweet. Insight for total impressions of every tweet over a 28-day period is also available. For example, the dashboard may tell users that over the last 28 days their total tweets earned a million impressions, which any be 10 percent more than the previous 28-day period, PC Magazine reported.

The update includes the ability to click on tweets to review various details, such as how many times people clicked on a user's links or hashtags, as well as follows and profile views. Tweets that include an App Card will show users the number of times people clicked open or installed the app.
