‘Doctor Who’ Season 8 Spoilers: Premiere Episode Leaks Online, BBC Issues Second Statement Begging Fans Not to Spoil Show

BBC released another statement begging "Doctor Who" fans not to spoil the show following a second leak. Last week, five scripts from Season 8 leaked online and now the first episode, starring new doctor Peter Capaldi, was posted to Tumblr.

According to ComicBook.com, the full episode was a rough, black and white edit and did not include any special effects. The video has been removed from Tumblr and BBC Worldwide issued a statement alerting fans of the leak.

"We understand there is a leaked 'Doctor Who' material on Tumblr. This is part of BBC Worlwide's ongoing security investigation into leaked unfinished 'Doctor Who' materials. This content is currently being removed and originates from the same Miami server disabled last week, it is not a new issue. We'd like to thank the amazing 'Doctor Who' fans who are continuing to keep fansites and social media spoiler-free. #KeepTumblrSpoilerFree," the statement read.

On July 7, the Internet went crazy when the first five scripts were posted online. Among the leaked material was the premiere episode, titled "Deep Breath." BBC asked fans not to ruin the show by reading the scripts, which most "Doctor Who" enthusiasts were more than happy to abide by.

Of course, there were a few who couldn't resist taking a peek but decided against spoiling the sci-fi show for anyone else and instead posted their thoughts on what they had read. For the most part, most "Whovians" were in favor of Matt Smith's successor, Peter Capaldi, and the beginning of the series.

"...What I read was good, but then again I'm not known for being critical of the show. I can't wait for true fans to truly rip them apart and say they're the worst 'Who' episodes in existence," one fan wrote. "Anyway I think I'll follow the steps of the others here, store them for reading after the episodes airs and as historical artifacts and not distribute them."

"Yeah I'm glad I didn't read any more than I did. What I did read, I liked very much though. Hope that isn't giving anything away," another fan commented.

Season 8 of "Doctor Who" premieres on BBC One Aug. 23. Check out the first official trailer below.
