Jenny McCarthy cleared up rumors claiming ABC fired her off "The View."
The former co-host explained to "Access Hollywood" rumors of ABC executives firing her off the show are not true. McCarthy claimed her exit from "The View" was mutual as she did not fit the new direction of the show.
"Midway through the season they realized they needed to replace Barbara. Those are big shoes to fill. In order to fill those kind of shoes you need to bring a heavy lifter in," McCarthy said. "The idea was talked about around that time that Rosie might be coming back. And it's just obvious after being a part of the table they want more conflict and debate.
"You can't really have five democrats sitting around a table," she continued. "It was mutual. I can't be a part of this and they agreed. They want a right wing tough badass in there."
McCarthy will be hosting her own Sirius XM radio show where she will be able to speak without being interrupted by four other women.
"It's 100 percent myself and without interruption, and the idea of having the microphone and being able to say whatever - I want that kind of freedom," she said. "The only analogy I can give is me going to Catholic school all my life and then when I went to college. That [kind of] freedom. I went nuts!"
However, McCarthy slammed "The View" for during an interview with the "Howard Stern Show." McCarthy claimed the ABC show wasn't allowing her to be herself while having to compete to speak with four other women.
"I'll tell you something Howard," McCarthy said. "It's like halfway into [my tenure on "The View"], it was probably around February, I went, 'God I'm not allowed to be the best of me here.' I feel like to have a voice, to be able to speak without having to interrupt people ... It's very difficult, and I don't like doing it, it's very uncomfortable, so I felt like, 'You know what? Maybe this is just a stepping stone for me to go somewhere where I can actually be my full self.'"
