‘Vikings’ Season 3 Cast and PHOTOS: Lothaire Bluteau to Play Emperor Charles of France, ‘Lost’ Star Kevin Durand Also Joins

Back in March, the popular History Channel show, "Vikings," was renewed for a 10-episode Season 3, and now three new cast members have just been announced. According to Deadline, Kevin Durand ("Lost") was added as "The Wanderer," a mysterious character "who is not what he seems."

Joining Durand will be Lothaire Bluteau and Morgane Polanski. Bluteau ("24") will play Emperor Charles of France, "who views the Vikings as spiritual and earthly," while Polanski will play Charles daughter, Princess Gisla.

Ben Robson will also make an appearance on the show as Kalf, Lagertha's trusted second in command. The cast also includes George Blagden as Athelstan, Jessalyn Gilsig as Siggy, Alyssa Sutherland as Princess Aslaug, Katheryn Winnick as Lagertha, Alexander Ludwig as an elder Bjorn, and Linus Roache as King Ecbert of Wessex.

For those not familiar with the show, "Vikings" is about the adventures of warrior and explorer Ragnar Lodbrok (played by Travis Fimmel), Rollo (Clive Standen), and Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard).

"The HISTORY orginal series 'Vikings' transports us to the brutal and mysterious world of Ragnar Lothbrok, a Viking warrior and farmer who yearns to explore - and raid - the distant shores across the ocean. His ambition puts him at odds with local chieftain Earl Haraldson, who insists on sending his raiders to the impoverished east rather than the uncharted west," according to the bio on History.com. "When Ragnar teams up with his boat builder friend Floki to craft a new generation of intrepid ships capable of conquering the rough northern seas, the stage is set for conflict."

Season 3 of "Vikings" returns in 2015 but the cast has been releasing behind-the-scenes photos and videos for fans to enjoy. Check out the slideshow above to see all the photos.
