Whitney Houston Lifetime Film: Singer Deborah Cox to Voice Late Singer (AUDIO)

Don't expect to hear Whitney Houston's voice in the upcoming biopic about the late singer's life.

MTV News confirmed that R&B singer Deborah Cox will be providing her vocals for the hotly anticipated Lifetime film. A representative from Lifetime mentioned that "music rights and clearances are still being worked out, but added that Cox will provide all the musical tracks needed for the film."

TMZ reported Cox released an audio track covering Houston's "I Will Always Love You."

Actress Yaya DaCosta, a former America's Next Top Model contestant, will star as Houston. In May, Entertainment Weekly announced actress Angela Bassett, who starred with Houston in "Waiting to Exhale," would be making her directorial debut in the upcoming film.

Houston's biopic will reportedly focus on her relationship with ex-husband and singer Bobby Brown, who will be played by actor Arlen Escarpeta. Houston and Brown married in 1992 and welcomed their daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown the following year.

"I really just want to tell a story about a boy and a girl who fell in love," Bassett recently told CNN. "And these are the words and this is the place, and these are the people on the outside, you know? And I want to be as honest as I can about doing that."

Bassett added: "Well, we know that drugs were a part of their story and that's certainly an element of their story. We can't tell their story without that. It's involved, and I hope we can unpack it gently."

Also starring in the film are Yolanda Ross as Houston's best friend Robyn Crawford, Suzzanne Douglas will portray Cissy Houston, the singer's mother and Mark Rolston will play legendary music producer Clive Davis, who discovered Houston in 1983.

The film is set to premiere in 2015.
