Eight Months Pregnant Teen Killed in Wyoming, Boyfriend Decapitated

An 18-year-old pregnant Michigan girl was strangled and her boyfriend decapitated after their meeting with a stranger for sex went wrong in Wyoming, police said Monday.

Emails recovered from deceased Brooke Slocum, who was eight months pregnant, reveal that she had connected with a 31-year-old man identified as Brady Oestrike through Craiglist for a sexual encounter. Her 25-year-old boyfriend Charles Oppenneer was to be present during the encounter.

Police chief in Wyoming, a Grand Rapids suburb, says that Oestrike held Slocum captive in his Wyoming home for days before killing her. Her body was found Thursday in the trunk of his car. She was eight months pregnant.

Oestrike fled the scene after police got a search warrant for his home. He shot himself dead after crashing his car. The police later found Slocum's body.

According to Chief James Carmody, Oppenneer's decapitated body was found in a park a day earlier. His head has not been recovered yet. The Associated Press reports that police suspect Oppenneer died of some kind of head trauma.

The motive of killings remains unknown.

Police recovered at least 400 items from Oestrike's home, including firearms, ammunition and knives. They also seized a number of electronics items and possessions from both victims.

"Dozens of firearms, ammunition, numerous knives and other weapons," as well as computers, cameras and surveillance devices were found at Oestrike's house, Carmody said, reports The Los Angeles Times.

A friend of Oestrike's said he was a collector of certain medieval items. "The truth is that's what the medieval times were all about, so I can see how people would jump to that conclusion if they're not well-versed in history," Oestrike's friend Andrew Weener told WoodTV.
