Pop star Ariana Grande sadly announced via Twitter on Wednesday, July 23 that her grandfather has died. The 21-year-old singer has been chronicling her grandfather's ailing condition on her Twitter and Instagram accounts over the last several weeks.
Grande has posted numerous photos and videos of the 90-year-old man. According to Hollywood Take, Grande made an emergency trip to her grandparent's home in Florida to be with her family earlier this month. At the time, she posted a photo of her granddad smiling broadly sitting in a car next to her with the caption, "wish u knew how incredible he is... humble, respectful, hardworking, polite, thoughtful, humorous, generous. An example for all gentlemen."
Hollywood Take reports that the grandfather died from a longtime battle with cancer but this has not been confirmed by the "Problem" singer. On Wednesday, Grande posted a series of heartbreaking tweets about losing her "favorite person to ever exist" and thanked fans for their continued support.
"I lost you to the summer wind," Grande tweeted early in the morning.
"thaaaanks to my best friends who stayed up with me all night talking and helped me pull myself together temporarily this am. Flyin back home," she added.
