Disney and Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars Episode 7” production is switching their filming location later this year.
Comic Book Movie reports Ireland’s Office of Public Works has confirmed the production is filming scenes County Kerry. The scenes will take place at Skellig Michael, an island in the Atlantic Ocean.
The “Star Wars Episode 7” has confirmed shooting locations at Pinewoods Studios and Abu Dhabi. However, the Daily Mail recently reported the production filmed scenes at the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire, England. The Forest of Dean was the location for Yoda's home and the Forest Moon of Endor.

The production has kept quiet about the film’s plot, but Badass Digest recently published alleged spoilers regarding the main storyline. The film allegedly stars John Boyega and Daisy Ridley on their journey to find Luke Skywalker. Boyega is an alleged storm trooper deserter who encounters Ridley’s character after finding a Jedi relic.
“Their quest takes them off world, and they meet up with Han Solo and Chewbacca, who aren't flying around in the Millenium Falcon anymore but are piloting... well, that could be a spoiler,” Badass Digest reports. “Anyway, Han and Chewie recognize the light saber as Luke's, and they say they haven't seen their friend in thirty years, since the events of Return of the Jedi.
“So begins a quest to find the missing Jedi Master. Meanwhile, on an ice planet, nefarious forces are building a super weapon, one capable of destroying not planets but entire solar systems.”
“Star Wars Episode 7” stars Lupita Nyong'o, Gwendoline Christie, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow. Original franchise actors Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker will also be reprising their roles.
"Star Wars Episode 7" will be released to theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
