Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Teases 'Shazam' On Twitter; Movie Announcement Happening At SDCC 2014? (SEE TWEET)

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson continued to tease fans about his Warner Bros. project on his official Twitter account.

Johnson shared an image of Superman, The Flash and Shazam fighting on Twitter, reigniting rumors the actor will take on the role of Billy Batson soon.

The Shazam rumors began when Johnson gave an interview with TotalFilm. Johnson shot down previous Green Lantern rumors by stating one phrase towards the end of his interview.

“There’s a character out there that we’re going to announce soon,” Johnson said. “He has the power of Superman. And it’s not the Green Lantern by the way. Believe me – Jon Stewart – he is a character who I wanted to play, but there was already a version of Green Lantern, and so now we’ve gone in a slightly different direction. But this character has the power of Superman. He can throw down…Just say the word. That’s all I’m going to say.”

Many believed “just say the word” was a reference to Batson, who needs to say “Shazam” in order to become the superhero. The second reference to his Warner Bros. project came during Johnson’s interview with the “Today” show while promoting his latest film “Hercules.”

“It is going to happen,” Johnson said. “I’ve been dying to announce it, by the way, but we still have to find the right writer, we’re hearing two or three takes right now, but I’m very, very excited about it. I’ve been waiting a long time for this, and so have the fans, by the way.”

Rumor has it Warner Bros. will be announcing their movie lineup during San Diego Comic Con 2014. The lineup will allegedly include a Shazam movie, a Wonder Woman solo film, a Sandman flick and a Flash and Green Lantern team-up.
