“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” may not be making a panel appearance at San Diego Comic Con, but the production has snuck in some surprises during the convention.
DC Comics has released a new headshot of Ben Affleck in his cowl and cape to help launch their “Batman 75” exhibit. Attendees can check out the history of the character’s comics, film, TV, games, toys and clothing at the DC Entertainment booth. The Batman headshot was hidden on the booth's montage wall for the caped vigilante.
“The filmmakers wanted to include this new cinematic version of the Dark Knight in the anniversary mosaic so it could be discovered by fans,” DC said in their blog. “The cast and crew behind Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice are excited to be a part of the 75th celebration!”
DC Comics teased there are more updates to come on their official website here.
Attendees have already spotted Affleck’s mask and cowl on the SDCC 2014 floor, along with other Batsuits actors have worn throughout the years. Click here to view the image of Affleck’s Batsuit at Comic Con.
DC Entertainment’s co-publisher Jim Lee recently dished his thoughts to Variety regarding the “Batman vs. Superman” production. Lee claimed he sees film and comics as two different mediums and doesn’t compare the two. However, Lee assure Snyder is the right person to direct the film.
“Zack is a comicbook fan and draws inspiration from the comics,” Lee said. “He doesn’t need to be given advice. He’s a talented filmmaker. He’s a super stylized visualist. He’ll do stuff no one has ever done with the caped crusader and blow everyone away. He knows how to take the sensibility of comicbooks and do what other filmmakers don’t know how to do”
“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” is slated to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
