Rumors are continuing to heat up about the upcoming "Justice League" movie. The superhero film is said to be released in 2017 and Warner Bros. might have a script writer locked in place. According to Deadline, Warner Bros. is pulling for Chris Terrio to pen "Justice League."
The Oscar-winning writer worked with the studio before to write the script for Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." Sources told Deadline that a deal has not been made but Warner Bros. is definitely eyeing Terrio for the job.
"I'm hearing that after he absolutely crushed the script on ['Dawn of Justice], Oscar-winning 'Argo' scribe Chris Terrio is being courted by the studio to come aboard and script its Justice League movie. That super hero mash-up will be DC Comics answer to Marvel's Avengers juggernaut," Deadline wrote.
The "Justice League" movie will team up all of DC Universe's major superheroes including Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and The Flash. There were previously rumors that Martian Manhunter and Darkseid would also appear in the movie.
Back in June, The Wrap's Jeff Sneider tweeted an alleged agency grid for the "Justice League" project which included Martian Manhunter and Max Lord as characters. Sneider also said he was informed that Darkseid would be a villain.
According to a leaked Warner Bros. movie lineup the "Justice League" movie is slated to be released May 2017 followed by a solo Wonder Woman film in July that same year. Other movies on the alleged list were "Batman v Superman" with a May 2016 release date, Shazam (July 2016), Sandman (Christmas 2016), Flash and Green Lantern (Christmas 2017), and Man of Steel 2 (May 2018).
