Are there wedding bells in Charlize Theron and Sean Penn's future?
The 38-year-old "Snow White" actress fueled rumors of an engagement after she was photographed wearing new bling on her ring finger while walking through Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday, according to the New York Daily News.
The report also suggested that the couple, who has been dating for nearly seven months, were considering adopting a child together - making Theron's adopted son Jackson an older brother. Sources told Us Weekly that the couple had plans to exchange vows in South Africa this summer.
"Sean is revitalized with Charlize," a source told Us Weekly. "They want to get married very soon [and they] always intended to have another child."
Despite speculation of an engagement, a source close to the actress confirmed to Us Weekly that the couple was not engaged and the ring on Theron's finger was purchased by the actress herself.
Theron and her 53-year-old boyfriend were first spotted together during a Hawaiian vacation in January and have made several appearances on the red carpet together.
"Sean and I have known each other for 18 years," Theron told Vogue Magazine about her relationship with Penn. "We were just really good friends and it's been slow going because you are aware that you could screw that up and lose it. We had to think about it. But at the end of the day, it was somewhat effortless."
She added: "It just kind of naturally happened, and before I knew it, I was in something that was making my life better - the people who really love me can see the effect it has had on me."
If the rumors were true, this would have been Theron's first wedding. Penn was previously married to singer Madonna in the 1980s and actress Robin Wright, who is now engaged to actor Ben Foster. Penn and Wright share two children together - daughter Dylan, 23, and son Hopper, 20.
