Keith Urban Fans Hospitalized During Massachusetts Concert for 'Alcohol-Related Issues' (VIDEO)

Over a dozen concertgoers required medical assistance during Saturday's Keith Urban concert at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield.

The Sun Chronicle reported several emergency service workers from six towns - Eaton, Norton, Foxboro, North Attleboro, Plainville and Easton - responded to numerous reports of injuries and illness caused by "non-serious alcohol-related issues."

A police report stated 46 concertgoers were treated at the concert; 22 other fans were transported to hospitals nearby. While more than 18,000 people attended the concert, over 50 people were arrested and taken into protective custody.

According to Reuters, Mansfield Police Chief Ron Sellon and Fire Chief Neil Boldrighini released a statement Sunday saying, "In total, Fire and EMS attended to 46 medicals resulting in 22 transports, mostly alcohol-related. The large number of medicals in a shortened time of approximately three hours caused the activation of a phase one EMS plan utilizing ambulances from five mutual aid communities."

"Police dealt with a steady stream of intoxicated persons as well, resulting in over 50 people being taken into protective custody and a number of others arrested for alcohol-related issues," the statement continued.

During the concert a medical helicopter was ordered for a 16-year-old male, who reportedly suffered several injuries during the show and was unresponsive, according to medical officials. However, the helicopter was cancelled and the young man was later transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro for treatment.

Police and fire department officials released a separate statement commending all the workers, including venue ushers, security employees, law enforcement, EMS and the fire department, who helped "resilient efforts during [the] busy show."

Urban, who is currently on his "Raise Em Up Tour," was reportedly unaware of the incident during his show.
