With Apple's Worldwide Developer's Conference just around the corner on June 10 in San Francisco, rumors are circulating that perhaps the company is planning to take this opportunity to unveil the iPhone 6 and iPhone 5s.
In addition, the company hopes to unveil its new iOS 7, a completely revamped version of the iPhone, iPad and iPod look that consumers have grown accustom to over the years.
Developers hope to change the look of the iPhone operating system so that it can compete with the widely successful Samsung Galaxy 4s. The new display will be more black and white and feel significantly simpler to use and operate. The changes were reportedly the result of pushes from Apple's design chief John Ive who wanted an across the board overhaul of not only iPhones, but all Apple products that use the iOS.
As for the release of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 5s, there is nothing but speculative rumors at the moment. However, early rumors of the price of the iPhone going down in foreign markets, particularly the UAE (United Arab Emirates) where the phone has become more available despite customers having to alter their SIM card in order to use it.
In addition, Verizon dropped the price of the iPhone briefly, causing many insiders to believe that the new phone was coming as early as this summer. A clear sign that the next generation of iPhone is on the horizon usually comes when the price of the old phone begins to go down.
Unfortunately, this isn't the same degree of price drops that have been seen with previous releases. In fact, according to the International Business Times, prices for the iPhone 5 remain high, particularly in Australia where retailers have a lot of stock of the devices and see no need to drop the price as long as the next generation phone is not announced.
Despite all of the rumors, Apple chief Tim Cook has dropped hints that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 5s might not be unveiled until September. He even has said publicly that no new devices will come out this year.
