Sony Record Label Releases Surprise NSYNC Album Without Telling Former Band Members (TWEETS)

Did N'Sync pull a Beyonce without even knowing it?

Entertainment Weekly reported that the group's label, Sony Legacy Records, released "The Essential *NSYNC" - a two-disc compilation featuring the group's well known hits and some never heard before tunes.

But here's the problem - the album, which was released on Tuesday, was such a secret that not even the band members knew it would be released. Former band members Chris Kirkpatrick, Lance Bass and JC Chasez all took to social media to express their feelings on the success of the album.

"It's great to release some of the songs that had never made a record before! I'm glad our longtime fans get some new music!" Kirkpatrick tweeted and Chasez added, "I had the strangest dream last night that some old friends and I had a top 10 record on iTunes. Crazy right...#shocked #humbled #thankful."

Bass wrote, "Guess the label didn't expect all our amazing fans to still be there for us! I hate that my favorite When You Wish upon A Star got left off. This cd set really showcases the vocals which I really like."

He later tweeted a screen shot of "The Essential 'N Sync" description on Amazon and captioned it, "I love when the record label doesn't even tell you they are releasing a new 'NSYNC album tomorrow ! #TheyCare."

Former N'Sync members Joey Fatone and Justin Timberlake have yet to comment on the surprise album, which comes out nearly 12 years after the pop band broke up. The group last preformed together at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards at the Barclays Center on Aug. 25.

The album is currently out of stock on Amazon and is also one of the most downloaded albums on iTunes. It features several fan favorites like "I Want You Back," "Bye, Bye, Bye," "This I Promise You" and "Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You."
