A New Mexico woman reportedly decided to handle her frustration with a Comcast cable service technician by threatening him with a gun.
The incident occurred because the woman, identified as Gloria Baca-Lucero, allegedly believed that the repairs she asked for would be free, according to CNET. She expressed her anger after being told by the service engineer, identified as Clifton Ratliff, that she would be charged for them.
He said she would have to sign a form to agree to the fees, or else he wouldn't be able to make the repairs. Police said that afterwards, Baca-Lucero called customer service, and the representative also told her that the service came with fees.
Ratliff started to load his equipment back into his vehicle when Baca-Lucero became upset and refused to pay the charges, allegedly deciding to take of a bag of his tools, bring them into her house and lock the door, Yahoo News reported. The technician said that she opened the door after he knocked and asked for the tools, which were worth $400. However, instead of giving back the tools, she pointed a gun at him and told him to get off her property, to which he complied and fled.
After being informed of the situation, police searched Baca-Lucero's home and found the bag of tools, along with a black Glock. She admitted that she pulled out a gun, but said she pointed it "in the air," not at Ratliff. She was released on bail after being arrested, and she has been waiting for a court appearance since Wednesday.
