Robert Pattinson Talks Kristen Stewart Cheating Scandal and Breakup, 'It's Normal'

Robert Pattinson is admitting that he no longer holds a grudge against ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart, after she was publicly caught cheating on the actor.

The 28-year-old actor opened up to Esquire U.K. Magazine about the media's fascination over his high-profile relationship with his "Twilight" co-star. Stewart was caught cheating on Pattinson in 2012 with her "Snow White" director Rupert Sanders, who was married to Liberty Ross at the time.

"S--t happens, you know?" Pattinson said while laughing. "It's just young people... its normal! And honestly, who gives a s--t."

Pattinson added that the hardest part was "talking about it afterwards."

"Because when you talk about other people, it affects them in ways you can't predict," he explained. "It's like that scene in Doubt [where actor Philip Seymour Hoffman plays a priest suspected of inappropriate behavior], where he's talking about how to take back gossip? They throw all those feathers from a pillow into the sky and you've got to go and collect all the feathers."

Pattinson and Stewart managed to work through the cheating scandal but eventually ended their relationship in May 2013. Despite their break up, the two stars remain paparazzi targets.

The actor began dealing with fame at a young age, but it was his "Twilight" movies that placed his career squarely in the public eye. Pattinson is now becoming involved in more "independent movie" and has at five films coming out in the next two years, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Despite his success, the actor said he still does not understand people's interest in him.

"I don't understand why," Pattinson told the magazine. "I think it goes through periods where you're assigned 'this is the guy to follow'. But whenever I see a bunch of paparazzi hanging out, I always think, 'Oh God, what have they found out! Oh, that love child! I totally forgot!'"
