Fans of the hit Fox series "Sleepy Hollow" have one more month until the show returns but can get a glimpse at the upcoming Season 2 with three new previews. The cast has previous said the season premiere will be "explosive" and dished about the show at the Television Critics Association last month.
In the Season 4 finale, fans saw Ichabod Crane (Tim Mison) and Lt. Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) separated when Ichabod was buried alive and Abbie was stuck in purgatory after trading places with Katrina (Katie Winter), ichabod's wife.
Katrina was captured by the Horseman of Death, Abbie's wife Jenny was injured in a car accident and Captain Frank Irving was arrested for murder. At the Television Critics Association, Mison told reporters that "Sleepy Hollow" had no plans to slow down so fans are in for an exciting 15-episode Season 2.
"There's not really a shark to jump," Mison said (via the Los Angeles Times). "In the pilot, we kicked the shark in its teeth."
Other highlights should you know about the new season"
-There will be a battle. As series co-creator Robert Orci said: "War has come into town. War can tear a town apart but also a family. Can [Ichabod and Katrina] redeem their son or not?"
-Abbie and Ichabod have some "real trust issues. We saw that Crane had betrayed Abbie's trust in redrawing the map to Purgatory," said Executive Producer Mark Goffman.
-There won't be any romance for Abbie and Ichabod. Goffman reminded fans that "Crane is married and still hopelessly in love. That can't be forgotten. I really think it's interesting and fun that she has a relationship with a man but it's not romantic... Crane has become a family member."
-There will be some bad guys - Pied Piper, a succubus, a wendigo and "the kindred" - as well as some new human faces, sheriff Lena Reyes.
-Give Ichabod some time to rise from the dead. "It's been harder than we thought to get him out," said Goffman. "We spent so much time to get him in the ground. What we didn't want to do is just get him right out and make it feel easy."
-There's going to be a little comedic relief, courtesy of Ichabod. He's still confused by modern technology and doesn't understand why banks have their pens chained to the desk. Check out the clip and the two others below.
