New images of the rumored “Assassin’s Creed: Rogue” have surfaced online, revealing gamers will play as a Templar in the second AC title coming this year.
Ubisoft has declined to confirm “Assassin’s Creed: Rogue” despite the trailer and still images from it leaking online. However, the leaked images revealed the title is due out to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on Nov. 11, about two weeks after the “Assassin’s Creed: Unity” release date.
Rumors of a second “Assassin’s Creed” title starring a Templar began after “Assassin’s Creed: Unity” leaked late 2013. The alleged codename for the last-gen exclusive title was “Assassin’s Creed: Comet.”
It remains unclear where the setting of “Assassin’s Creed: Rogue” will take place, but rumors claim the title will be a direct sequel to “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.” Watch the leaked trailer for the last-gen AC title here.
For those excited to play “Assassin’s Creed: Unity,” Single-Player Scriptwriter Travis Stout recently spoke about the lead Assassin Arno in during a DevBlog.
Stout revealed the French Assassin is seeking to right his past wrongs in the title, which could explain why he decided to help Templar Elise in the latest trailer.
“He is a very driven young man,” Stout said in the blog. “He is haunted by mistakes in his past or perceived mistakes, that he feels he must atone for. He is very devoted to the Assassin Order as an ideal but, at the same time, he is not as impressed with the weight of the long mystical tradition and ancient rhetoric as some of the other Assassins. He likes to think for himself and make his own decisions. He isn’t the type of person who will believe something just because someone tells it to him.”
“Assassin’s Creed: Unity” will be for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Oct. 28.
