School is back in session on "Glee": five new students will start their sophomore year at McKinley High School when the Fox series returns for its sixth and final season, TVLine reports.
The new group will include a gay "football stud," a kid with a voice like Otis Redding, a female Warbler wannabe, and male and female twin Cherrios. See the complete casting list below:
Roderick: Chubby and shy student with a voice like Otis Redding, his looks don't match with his talent. Described as "a true goober." He's the show's new underdog.
Spencer: He's the new resident "football stud" who just so happens to possess an incredible voice. He's also gay. The casting notice says, "He's post-Glee gay - no one messes with him about his sexuality because he will kick their asses if they do."
Jane: Righteous, ambitious and unconventionally pretty, she's funny because she doesn't have much of a sense of humor. She wanted to be a Warbler, but tradition kept her from joining, so she jumps ship to the New Directions.
Mason and Madison: Male and female twin Cheerios. They're super-positive and extremely weird.
The show will move away from its New York City location, which dominated the last seven episodes of season five. Ryan Murphy also confirmed to E! News that the new season will make a time jump, but wouldn't specify how much time would pass. The "Glee" creator wants the show to get back to its roots this season.
"I'm sort of reinvigorated about it," Murphy told TVLine.com. "It's getting back to what I was initially interested in with the show, which was arts in school. The last season is really about the importance of arts education in our high schools... I think people will like it."
Glee will return in 2015 with its final 13 episodes, airing uninterrupted on Fox.
