Singer Marianne Faithfull recently did an interview with Mojo magazine and claims that she had nothing to do with Jim Morrison's death, but she knows who does. The 67-year-old shockingly revealed that her ex-boyfriend, Jean de Breituil, killed Morrison.
Faithfull recalled the events surrounding the summer of 1971 when she and her then-boyfriend went to Paris. The singer claims Breituil, who was a heroine dealer to the Hollywood stars, said he needed to pay a visit to Morrison's apartment.
Faithfull decided to stay behind because she had a gut-wrenching feeling that something bad was going to happen.
"I could intuitively feel trouble," Faithful said. "I thought, I'll take a few Tuinal and I won't be there. And he went to see Jim Morrison and killed him."
Even though Faithfull is accusing her ex of killing Morrison, she insists that the death was probably an accident. It's been long rumored that Morrison died from a heroin overdose.
"I mean, I'm sure it was an accident. Poor bastard," she added. "The smack was too strong? Yeah. And he died. And I didn't know anything about this. Anyway, everybody connected to the death of this poor guy is dead now. Except me."
She also discussed the death of Am Winehouse and told Mojo that she was "appalled" by it. Like Morrison, Winehouse died from substance abuse.
"Amy was very, very wary of me," Faithful said. "She knew that I knew and she didn't want me to say anything. There's a level of narcissism, which is all mixed up with self-hatred. I know it well. It's like a glass wall between you and the world, so that all the love that everybody pours onto you, you don't feel it. But I can't think what I could have done apart from take her and [shouts] shake her! 'You stupid little c**t! Wake up!'"
