An Oregon man had to be rescued after he fell off a cliff and into a river because he was too busy masturbating.
Ernest Kirk, 31, now faces charges of indecent exposure for the Saturday afternoon incident that began when he allegedly masturbated on a cliff in Oregon's Clackamette Park where others could see him, KPTV reported.
Oregon City Police Department officers were called to the scene and found Kirk sitting naked on the edge of a cliff bank of the Willamette River near the Oregon City-West Linn Bridge, located on the Oregon City side of the river. Police noticed Kirk seemed to be under the influence of a controlled substance, KPTV reported.
Kirk apparently did not care about the officers because he continued to masturbate in front of them for several minutes. Police called for backup from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit to help arrest Kirk, who was sitting a few feet above the water.
As the sheriff's boat came towards the cliff, Kirk fell into the river, police told KPTV. Deputies fished him out of the water and transported him to a Portland area hospital to be evaluated, the Portland Tribune reported.
Kirk was arrested Monday after being released from the hospital and was charged with public indecency and harassment. He was also charged for a previous parole violation out of Clackamas County.
