Steve Jobs Alive In Brazil? Reddit Selfie Causes Viral Stir

Computer mogul Steve Jobs passed away in 2011 after a long battle with cancer, but one Reddit user managed to take a selfie with a Steve Jobs doppelganger in Brazil on Thursday, Gawker reported.

Brazilian Reddit user TheHorseSizedDuck uploaded the shot with the caption "Steve Jobs is in Rio de Janeiro, alive."

The man depicted in the photo highly resembles Jobs, wearing a black top and being wheeled by a caretaker, sparking a lot of conspiracy buzz, according to Up Roxx. The photo also shows the photographer's face, along with the caretaker catching him in the act, serving as proof that the photo was taken in 2014.

Over on Reddit, the photo has created quite a stir, with the thread garnering over 2,500 comments as of Thursday.

"I thought Steve Jobs got some serious tats for a second," User Section8atl said, referring to the sleeves the lookalike is sporting in the photo.

"Of course he's wearing a Hatebreed shirt," gpm479 said.

At least one user tried to suggest Jobs had his head transplanted onto someone else. MindAlchemist said if Jobs had a billion dollars for a head transplant, he believes it could have been done with a good success rate. The Reddit user claims all the technology is there is support it, excluding the ability to attach the head to the spinal cord. This would explain why the man in the photo, who appears to have quadriplegia, was in a wheelchair.

"It's just not ethically acceptable, so it wasn't ever discussed. Steve seems like the kind of guy to do this," MindAlchemist said.

Another user, Mr_dog was supportive of this theory. He said Jobs thought of life in terms of cyberspace and a virtual reality.

"He's okay without a functioning body, he's free to roam the electronic world," Mr_dog said, supporting the theory that Job's head was transplanted onto another person.

But not everyone is supportive of the photographer's choice to grab a photo. User therealrandyquaid said that he's amazed people don't understand how rude something like what he did was.

"Either that or they don't care. Knowing people, they understand, they just don't care," the user said.
